Totara
North Primary School
Pantomime

Cinderella and Rockerfella!

On Tuesday morning 24 August, Totara North School hosted a special concert for their grandparents and elderly of the community.

While they watched the children perform, these VIP’s sat down to a fabulous morning tea, prepared by the lovely parents of Totara North School.

Cinderella (Olivia Frear), Rockerfella (Sam Shepherd), Buttons (Shannen Frear) her cool dog (David Frear) and off course the ugly stepsisters (Oscar Martin and Mason Frear) had the audience in fits of laughter with all their antics.  Fairy Nasty Boots (Eve Constantinos) tried her best to upset the applecart, but luckily the Fairy Godmother (Antonia Cathcart) and her fairy brigade (Melody Brogan, Anna-Lee Davies-Sherwin, Leila Isherwood) came to the rescue time and again!  The warm-up girls (Anneka Hyde and Keela Cashmore) kept everything nicely together. The town crier (Isabella Nicolay-Barnes) and the inspectors (Damian Isherwood and Ryan Smith) made sure everyone was well informed!

The whole school, from 5 year olds to Year 6’s had a part to play and did so brilliantly.  As this was a Pantomime there was a lot of singing to do and the brilliant voices of these young children were amazing! A very sick Monsieur Bunn le Baker (Michael Gregory) was specially brought in for his solo and although he could barely stand, sang his song brilliantly!  Well done!

Technology Challenge

Our first technology challenge took place in week 3. We worked in groups to design and construct a nomadic shelter using only newspaper, sellotape and string. Meeting all the requirements of this task was challenging. All the children learnt a lot about group work, problem solving, and perseverance!
