Kia Ora Koutou
Welcome back to all. I hope you had an enjoyable time with your tamariki in the holidays.
I would like to welcome Mrs Clare Murdoch who joins us this year as the Teacher in the Senior Class Wednesday to Friday.
Also I would like to welcome a new whanau to our School Community – Lauaki and the Ulukau Whanau (Jess and Mike, Pippon and Arlo).
This term is one of our hottest and as our Sunsafe Policy states all children must have a wide brimmed hat to wear in the playground. May I also suggest that they have a drink bottle with water so that they can keep hydrated.
As you may already know our big pool is no longer and we are looking into replacing it but this will not be a straight away fix. We have got the waterslide running and hose going to keep the children cool so the children can still bring their togs. The small pool may be still be able to be used.
On Saturday 14 March is the Kiwi Can Raft Race so is there anyone out there who can help build a raft here at school with some children please let me know. Also we need 4 children and an adult to be on the raft with life jackets and a paddle.
There are lots of things happening this term with Life Education, Sea Week, Meet the teacher etc. Please take note of the dates that are on this newsletter and also you can check out things on the the calendar on the School Website. Notices, alerts and events are often posted on our School Facebook page, Skooloop ( an app that you can put on your phone) and through a text messaging service ( for any urgent notices).
Our School camp is on next term Wednesday 06 May to Friday 08 May at Lonsdale Park. I have sent out Police Vetting forms to those parents who require updating and to those who have 5 year olds as they are required to accompany their child. If there is anyone else who would like to attend camp but is not Police vetted please let me know and I will give you the appropriate forms. All forms will need to be returned back to me by next Friday 07 February as it does take some time to process them.
