Kia Ora Koutou
Welcome back to everyone. I wish to thank you all for your support over the past month and a bit during this very strange time. It was all a big learning curve for us with the learning on line but we got through it. It has been wonderful to see the tamariki face to face this week rather than in the 2 dimensional form in Zoom Meetings. I was very impressed to see how the tamariki handled returning to school and how happy they were.
Thanks also to you all for following our procedures of signing in and out when coming onsite. This will continue until the powers to be tell us otherwise.
On another note, some of you have been asking about Camp. I have re-booked Lonsdale Park for the Wednesday 28 – Friday 30 October. This is just after Labour Weekend. Of course we cannot see into the future but hopefully this will go ahead.
Another question that I have been asked is about the holidays. The term dates will remain the same so this term ends on Friday 3 July and Term 3 begins again on Monday 20 July.
On Wednesday 10 June we will be having a visit from St Johns and they will be running a programme which includes Injury Prevention and Responding to an Emergency. We ask that the tamariki bring in a gold coin as a koha for this programme.
Finally I would like to welcome three new pupils to the school – Blake Newport and whanau, John Dance and whanau and Nelson Bold (Helena’s younger brother). We hope that your time at Totara North is fun and rewarding.

DUFFY HERO ASSEMBLY BOOKS
Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 lockdown we couldn’t hold our Duffy Hero Assembly that was to be originally in April 2020. BUT we do have the Duffy Books here for the children at our school. Each child receives 2 books this time and these will be sent home with your child/ren today for them to keep. They are easily identified as they will have the Duffy name label in side the front cover of each book. Something for them to enjoy over the weekend!
The following children have received certificates for their awesome work
Lily – for her consistent effort in giving everything a go.
Chloe – for her fraction work.
Izzy- for asking for more information and asking questions about the plastic task.
