Kia Ora Koutou
Welcome back to you all for Term 2. I hope you all had a great time with your children during the holidays. The children have returned refreshed and full of smiles.
This week we began Ka ora, Ka Ako- School Lunches. Some of the food has been new for some of the tamariki and they are giving it a go. The pig bucket is not overflowing, actually not even half full, so that shows the children are eating the lunches. Next week the children will not even have to bring morning tea as we will supply them with either fruit or a fruit cup – (no more lunch boxes for you to deal with).
We also began Cross Country training this week and I was quite impressed how fit the tamariki were. This will continue until the Cross Country on Thursday 01 July. I will be sending out a notice closer to the event asking for assistance on the day and for what home baking you can provide. We sell the home baking and have a sausage sizzle on the day – a little fundraiser for us.
Next week it is New Zealand Sign Language week so with the assistance of Rhonda the tamariki will be learning simple signs and our goal is to be able to sign the National Anthem by the end of the week.
Kia Ora from the Kotare Mobile Dental Unit
Ruby Dunn and Daena Wood will be at Totara North School from 17th May 2021
We seek to enrol all New Zealand Eligible children that are not yet enrolled.
We will see all enrolled children whom have not had a dental check in the last year. At their dental check-up we will issue consent forms for any student requiring treatment.
Please complete, sign and return these forms ASAP to allow us to complete their dental treatment as we are unable to continue treatment until these forms have been returned.
If you have any pre-schoolers or adolescents under 18years old in the area please feel free to ring us on 0800 MY TEETH or enrol/book on our website https://www.northlanddhb.org.nz/myteeth. You are most welcome to call in and see us to book an appointment.
Remember to brush your teeth twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste, spit don’t rinse, floss
Drink water and eat healthy snacks

A reminder if it is a gift you are ordering and you do not want it sent home with your child when it arrives, please let the School know. If you need help with anything regarding bookclub, please contact Sharon.
If your child/ren are interested in playing Rugby, the Kaeo Junior Rugby training starts today (Friday 07 May) at 4.30pm at the Kaeo Rugby club.
