Newsletter 1 Term 4 – Friday 29 October

Kia Ora Koutou

Well I must say it is great being back here at School.  A very short but very busy term is ahead of us.  Please check the dates to remember and put them in your diaries/calendars.

Next week we start our Art Intensive Week that we had to postpone last term.  I cannot wait to see the creative artwork that the tamariki will be doing.  These pieces of artwork will make up our Art Exhibition later on this term.  I have not secured a date for that as yet.

As we are not having a Camp this year I have organised a day trip down to Whangarei to Kiwi North Museum in the morning and then after lunch to the Whangarei Pools on Thursday 02 December.  More details will follow regarding leaving and returning times.  Of course parent help is needed and as part of the new Vaccination Order that has been put in place only fully vaccinated volunteers can help.  ( I apologise for this but my hands are tied and at present this has been my directive from MOE)

Once again we have been very lucky in being asked to attend two sessions at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds involving learning with digital technolgies late November- I will be confirming these trips with the Educators at Waitangi.

On Friday 26 November we will be having a Teacher Only Day for End of Year Organisation and 2022 Planning – these are part of the MOE granted days for schools during 2020 and 2022.

Unfortunately I have recieved an email informing us that the Wonderland Glow Show has been put off until next year.  There is some problem with the date as it will fall in the July holidays but I am present clarifying this with the Turner Centre.

Mrs Murdoch and the Senior Class have been designing a Water System – collecting water for our gardens.  Caretaker Mark of course is a big part of the construction too.

As part of a new orchard being established the first trees have been planted.  TREE TOMATOES!!! (or tamarillos for some)
