Kia Ora Koutou
Oh my goodness I am a bit over this rain but at least the tanks are filling up for Summer.
It was unfortunate that we could not have the Cultural Festival last week but who would of thought we would have that torrential rain. I really felt for Hato Hohepa because it is a lot of organizing to put an event like that on. There was no indoor facility available to hold it either. The Principals have tried to work out another date for it but as it is a very busy time of year we have not been able to do so. Therefore I have spoken to Mrs Heihei (the tutor) and she is available on our Prizegiving night so the tamariki will perform then.
The tamariki and teachers have been really working hard on their production. We have sent home invitations, that the tamariki have made themselves, for the Matinee Performance on Wednesday 07 December, 11.00am at the Totara North Hall. This performance is for grandparents and special guests only. We give them a cup of tea/coffee and some food (that I will be asking you in a week or so to supply some baking for this). If you can get them to ring the school if they are able to come that would be great so we know how many we are catering for. Parents and whanau attend the evening performance on the same day.
In the same week of the production we will be having a reflection and decision making day plus a celebration day for our Enviro Schools Silver Award that we have been working on all year. More details about this will follow but the tamariki may be asked to bring a plate of food to share on the Celebration day.
Hopefully we can go swimming next week and for the rest of the Tuesdays in the term. I cancelled this Tuesday not only because thunderstorms were forecasted but I had a person become unavailable to transport also. If it is raining I have explained to the tamariki we will usually still go but it was just the weather forecasted was a little more than just rain and the transport issue.
As the end of year finishes on Thursday 15 December at 12.30pm there will be no lunches provided and buses will be running early- Kaeo Bus 12.40pm and the Kahoe Bus at 1.40pm and all tamariki are to be picked up by then also.
