Welcome back whanau. Even though we had a delayed start it was great to see the sunshine and the tamariki on the Thursday. I would like to welcome two new families – Evan, Danielle and Shane Batters, Harlow Wright and Mum Keziah Deverell.
This term is jam packed again with the tamariki being involved in the Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) programme this term. They will be learning how to snorkel and examining the differences of marine live at a local beach (Pia Pia) and a reserve (Maitai Bay). Notices will be sent out later regarding assistance with transport to these places. (Check the dates in the calendar below)
On Thursday 23 February it is our Information night starting off with a sausage sizzle at 5.30pm. Here we will be talking about what events and learning that will be happening this year and teachers will give an insight into some of the learning and routines occurring in class.
Yesterday a notice was sent out asking help with transport to swimming at the college pool on a Tuesday. This was the only time slot that was available. Also this week a notice was sent out regarding help with the raft race and thank you to Mandy and Leigh (Jack’s parents) to putting their hand up to take this on. It is much appreciated. If you still would like to help I am sure Mandy and Leigh would appreciate help as well.
Next week the weather is not looking that grand, again, so it would be a good idea that the tamariki have their raincoats that we have given in the bottom of their bags, just in case. (New tamariki I will get these ordered for you)
In about a month we will be having ERO (Education Review Officers) in school. They have new processes now of how they conduct these visits like working in partnership with the School over a period of time instead of just one off visits.
Here’s hoping that we have an uninterrupted year of learning this year. Remember any questions or queries just ring, or drop in to see us.
