Our Charter and Curriculum

The purpose of a school charter is to establish the mission, aims, objectives, directions and targets of the board that will give effect to the Government’s National Education Guidelines and the Board’s priorities. The charter is reviewed regularly by the board of trustees and updated in consultation with the community yearly.

Curriculum Implementation Plan

The New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) was revised in 2007 and gives schools direction for teaching and learning. It is a framework rather than a detailed plan and schools develop their own curriculum and teaching programmes from it.

The role of the board, through the principal and staff, is to develop and implement a curriculum for students in years 1–6 which is consistent with the principles, values and key competencies as outlined in the NZC. This document is reviewed and changed as student learning needs and available resources change. Our Curriculum Implementation
